Originally used in the 17th Century, the word ‘cortège’ is of French origin.

We’ve noticed that the traditional funeral cortège (also referred to as the funeral procession) is still popular. This element of the funeral is becoming more personalised, as families like to choose the route the funeral cortège takes.

The cortège can pass a favourite old house or somewhere with sentimental value to the deceased. Of course, we’re always happy to tailor the journey to make that happen.

While our fleet of traditional state-of-the-art funeral hearses are still used on most occasions, some families now like to choose arrange funeral processions which reflect the individual life of the deceased by including other vehicles. These can range from tractors to fire engines, motorbikes and even pink Cadillacs.

Again, it’s your choice…
